From an interview of Ben Barbaud (the Main Man at hellfest org) we learned that
Metallica is currently in studio working on new album and will not play this summer.
Hellfest is looking for a headliner for Saturday (Rammstein is on Friday and Black Sabbath on Sunday)

I think maybe Avantasia could be the saturday headliner as they are touring next year with a new album and still anouncing dates

I would never consider them Headliner material.
They are quite a good Band but I don´t think they could pull a big crowd.

Hey!! Second Hellfest 2016, i went this year and it was amazing... is a long trip from Chile, but i have my tickets again!
The line up is amazing!! so many great bands, is insane! my favorites, almost everything in the altar/temple.. and Valley of course... Primordial, enslaved, Paradise Lost, Katatonia, Asphyx, Vader, Marduk, Myrkur, Kvelertak, Ghost, Slayer, Fallujah, Insomnium, Turbonegro, Anthrax, Gojira, King Diamond, Amon Amarth and so many bands, its gonna be almost a race between the stages. And if we dont have any other headliner is ok for me, because it´s gonna be a great festival anyway!!!
So, i don´t speak french, and just a little english, and this year i didn´t have any problem, people and everything were great!

I met Colombian people too last year, and a member of Hellfest Cult is from Venezuela! He took 5 different flights, 2 trains and the shuttle to finally arrive at Hellfest!
I have a great amount of respect for you, people from far far away, coming to live your passion for a few days only!

Hope to meet that kind of people again, it's cool to have some drinks and talk about music and everything wink

Really guys, really? This line-up is fucking amazing but... why did you put all the bands I want to see on a single day, Sunday?! This is fucked up, it's the same thing year after year. sad

On Saturday I only have a a couple of bands that I want to see (and with my luck some of them will play at the same time) and then on Sunday... well, too many!

Yes, I know the vast majority of them so I already know what I like or do not like (too many years of Hellfest and other festivals big_smile ). And the ones I do not know are mostly the bands from Wazone, that I cannot like no matter hard I try, and the bands that will play in the first three slots in the morning - and these don't crash with the big names I want to see.

For example, on Sunday I already know I wont be able to see Paradise lost because I will either be seeing Sabbath or Ghost. Same for Empyrium, Enslaved, Taake that will clash with Amon Amarth, Gojira and Blind Guardian. I already missed Enslaved in 2014 because they played at the same time as Sabaton, same for Amon Amarth (same time as King Diamond).

That sunday will be a fucking nightmare for me: sad for too many choices, smile for the top quality of them!

Then you can spend the other days discovering new bands, or meeting random people, or exploring the festival tongue
